About the event
Join Women in Design and the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts and Fiber Arts for a gallery exhibition of unique and original work by leading fiber artists. Speakers Emily Schlemowitz, Senior Curator, and Kallia Wolkowiak will discuss the pieces and the different techniques behind the beautiful pieces. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a hands-on exploration of weaving techniques such as a loom group weaving project and an individual project to take home. Light refreshments will be provided
Emily Schlemowitz is the Senior Curator at the Wisconsin Museum of Quilts & Fiber Arts. She specializes in the contemporary landscape of textiles and has served as the curator at WMQFA for four years.
Kallia Wolkowiak is an experienced weaver and weaving teacher based in Milwaukee.
