Advancing into Firm Leadership is the continuation of a seminar created with the intention of educating female architects, and design professionals, on critical firm information to support their advancement into firm leadership.

Advancing into Firm Leadership is the continuation of a class created with the intention of educating female architects, and design professionals, on critical firm information to support their advancement into firm leadership.
Women in Design has taken it under our programming umbrella as another way to advance the WID mission of connecting, empowering, and advocating for women. WID will be offering the seminar to females, and those identifying as female, designers interested in firm advancement. We encourage you to apply if you are at least 5 years into your career, looking for education on how a company is structured, and ways to advance your leadership skills. Space in this class will be limited and preference will be shown to those actively working towards accreditation, or already accredited in your design profession.
Class Structure
Each class will consist of hard and soft-skill learning opportunities.
Session 1: Introduction to the Class; Soft Skill: Emotional Intelligence
Session 2: Hard Skill: Firm and Corporate Structures - Roles vs Titles; Soft Skill: Servant Leadership
Session 3: Hard Skill: Project Financials - Billing and Contracts; Soft Skill: Negotiating and Effective Presentations
Session 4: Hard Skill: Firm Financials; Soft Skills: Accountability and Building Strong Teams
Session 5: Hard Skill: Becoming a Shareholder; Soft Skill: Change Management
Session 6: Hard Skill: Experience in Leadership; Soft Skill: Networking
Details
Classes will be held in person at a new location this year being held weekly on Wednesdays starting on April 17th from 5:30-8:00 pm.

Applications go live: February 1st
Applications are due: February 29th
Applicants will be notified by March 20th

Those participating in the seminar will be asked to make a $100 donation to Women In Design
