About the event

Today, the Milwaukee skyline is dotted with modern buildings of commerce, racing to the sky and overlooking the blue waters of Lake Michigan. However, between 1856-1900, wholesaling, banking, insurance and manufacturing were situated closer to the Milwaukee River and were considered the domain of men. As one of the earliest parts of the city, the Historic Financial District is layered with the stories of women, minority, and LGBTQ communities who are often forgotten and erased from the landscape. This tour will reconnect those stories with the historic architecture of the district and bring new insights into a familiar part of Downtown.

The tour will take place in a 4 block radius.  Wear comfortable walking shoes.
