Explore how creative placemaking — the practice of collaborating with community partners to cultivate a sense of place through arts and culture — has evolved in Milwaukee in recent years, plus models for building strong partnerships that add vibrancy to neighborhoods through public art, events, and unique activations.
Erica Green serves Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 as the Director of Public Space Initiatives, working in Downtown's public spaces to cultivate welcoming, active, authentic places. Her work with the Milwaukee Downtown team includes administering public art installations, producing public events, showcasing Milwaukee's unique identity through innovative activations, collaborating with community partners, and advancing initiatives that support the continued & growing vibrancy of Downtown Milwaukee. Erica is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Community and Nonprofit Leadership program and is an International Downtown Association Emerging Leader (2019).
